Marrakech best location to find a place to sleep is definitely inside the old Medina. Inside the Medina you have plenty of low quality (yet nice) hotels, and you also have a few hundred Riads to chose from.

Riads in Marrakech are renovated houses now working as guest houses or Moroccan bed & breakfast style of accommodation. Some riads are affordable, some are cheap and many are expensive. So basically you have all kinds of riads depending of what you want to pay.

Last time I was in Marrakech i stayed here at Riad Jona approximately 2 weeks, and i could take the best out of Marrakech and work as the riad has free wireless Internet all around the house.

Riad Jona, Riad Marrakech Morocco

In Derb Jdid in the Riad Zitoun Jdid district, you have a great place to stay called Riad Jona. Riad Jona is one of Marrakech best choices for accommodation as you have great quality at a not so expensive price. Rooms start at 90 Euros per couple, breakfast included. You can profit from a magnificent decoration and a fabulous swimming pool in the terrace. Riad Jona is the best riad with swimming pool in Marrakech.

For those looking for a great experience with local Moroccan people, I advise to home stay with a family in Nkob village in south Morocco. Nkob village is a gorgeous village surrounded by palm trees oases and the Saghrou Mountains.

Home Stay in Morocco is fantastic as you can learn about a special and ancient culture among Berbers. In Nkob there is a house that receives tourists to live with them. Actually there are just a few number of rooms so you will enjoy privacy while inside a Moroccan family.

Mr. Lahcen welcomes travelers to stay with him and his family, also he provide guide services for mountain tours in camel or donkeys to the mountain, So if you’re into Mountain Trekking in Morocco, where you will walk for several days to explore the mountains of southern Saghro the Dades Valley and along the lines of Draa Valley this is a perfect choice.

Nkob is a Berber village 130km south of Ouarzazate, on the National Road 108 that goes from Ouarzazate to Tazzarine, Alnif and Rissani – last town before the dunes of Erg Chebbi and Merzouga in the Sahara desert.

PRICE of Home Stay in Morocco: Costs 30 Euros per night half board, dinner and breakfast, but it might get a couple in the room as there is a double bed costs 25 Euros per person with dinner and breakfast. If we get 14 days to earn three free nights.

Most companies offer 1 and 2 days excursion departing from Marrakesh or Ouarzazate, and, 5, 7, 11 days tours in Morocco departing from major Moroccan cities like Casablanca, Fez, Marrakesh, Rabat and Ouarzazate.

I will point out a few companies that stand out for their effort to present excellent service, working ethics and reliable 4wd fleet. As I work in close contact with all of them, I can somehow have an idea about their tours, their behavior towards clients and working ethics.

Transport Tifinagh

This young yet promising agency opens its office in the southern city of Ouarzazate. What they offer different from others is the fact they apart from their 4×4, they also have minibuses and private cars available to make their tours. Their website is interesting in one fact that instead of having text description of the tours, they have an image description of all the places they travel to, so their website is indeed worth to visit as you can travel around Morocco through photography without getting out of your house.

To visit the website click here:

Ligne d’Aventure

This well run father and son managed agency offer well selected tours around Morocco. Youssef will drive you around Moroccan’s hot spots with great energy and enthusiasm.

Tea in Morocco

In Morocco people drink a lot of tea. Really a lot. If you’re the kind of person not that keen about tea, well, I guess you’ll just have to get used to.

There are 3 main styles of tea in Morocco:

Green tea with mint leaves, mint tea, and green tea.

Tea only with mint leaves is usual in the northern part of Morocco. You can taste it in relaxing Chefchaouen ancient medina while reading a book. Green tea with mint s normal everywhere around and only green tea is more normal in deserted regions.

It seems that the green tea was introduce to Morocco back in 18th century while a British cargo ship coming from Asia left a huge load of tea in a Moroccan port. British people would never guess they were about to influence Moroccan culture than much.

Moroccan tea has tons of sugar, exaggerated quantities. If you don’t like it that sweet or if you can’t take that much sugar just say it before people actually serve you. Refusal can be tricky and not that well seen as you’ll pas a bit as a rude tourist that denied hospitality and one of their most important social ritual. So just inform in advance and you’ll be served sugar free. People are used to have a couple of folks in the family with diabetes so they are used to make 2 sets of tea.

THE REST OF TEXT WILL COME IN ENGLISH VERY SOON…

Moroccan green tea recipe

Cleaning the leaves

Yes.

So we have:

1-boil the water;

2-clean the tea leaves;

3-pour the water into the tea pot;

4-break the fresh mint and insert them into the tea pot;

5-sugar as you like. Mix the sugar and the tea properly, the more you blend them the better the flavour.

Why do Moroccans dip tea from so high?

To mix together tons of sugar they actually use while preparing the tea…

Why 3 glasses for only 2 people? Why always a spare glass?

Is there any other way to make the tea even more delicious?
