Islit and Tislit Lakes in Imilchil, Atlas Mountains
Islit and Tislit lakes near Imilchil mountain Berber village,High Atlas
These lakes are two mountain pearls and its beauty is undisputed. The first lake Islit “The Bride” is the most well known due to its location aside the road to Imilchil, the second lake Tislit “The Groom” is quite off the beaten path as it has no decent road to be reached. During winter is even impossible to reach it by 4WD.
Below I show a small video of Isli Lake. 
I know that the image is not still and the horizon is falling to the left, but I was burying my feet in the mud inside the lake….so please don’t send me comments telling me how bad the video is, and that I’m just an amateur bla bla. Do you want to see how does it look like? The lake many people didn’t see as it almost impossible during several months per year? Voilá! 
There’s a very interesting story around these two lakes that I will add soon in this entry. Below two photos of the lakes. First “The Bride” covered with snow, and after “The Groom”.
Natural resources
Fascinated by the parallel between this and the Romeo and Juliet story. First heard of these lakes from my son, Alex, who is now in the Atlas Mtns with the Peace Corp.
